he last time I did this family’s photos was when their little boy was in momma’s belly. So, it has been a while since we last worked together and since then my style has completely changed. Before I was the photographer who did more posed and “say cheese” shots. But when I told them I no longer do the stiff poses but am here to capture emotion, their families story in a free and fun candid style photoshoot she was ecstatic. Trying to get two older kids to sit still and smile at me for an hour not only doesn’t capture their personalities but from past experience can cause some stress on the parents and the kids to act their best and get the “perfect” photo.
The “perfect” shot for me is no longer getting eye contact with happy smiling faces from everyone, but the photo that shows this families season of life during this moment. The personalities of their kiddos, the love they share. Give me all the emotion whether that’s soft cuddles, quiet moments, full belly laughter, or energetic exploring! In this sweet family’s case lots of cuddles and soft moments filled their gallery and I am still swooning over it!
